About
In January 2023 I stepped away from a career in family law to pursue a completely different path in publishing. A decision based on my lifelong love of books and reading.
I began my career in author services, working as a Personal Assistant to a New York and Sunday Times bestselling author. In this role I became immersed in the day to day realities of the publishing industry, and have been fortunate to meet and work with a wide range of authors, agents, editors, publishers, booksellers, and creative professionals across both traditional and independent publishing spaces.
I developed a deep appreciation of the editing process, and-inspired by the many wonderful editors I've alongside-I enrolled at the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CIEP). At CIEP I completed training in Developmental Fiction Editing, Romance Fiction Editing, Line & Copy Editing, and Proofreading.
My career being predominantly rooted in author services has offered me many wonderful opportunities to travel, spend time with authors I love, and attend meetings with everyone from artists and booksellers, to the heads of publishing houses, to media companies.
It's this array of experience that influences my editing style and allows me to offer a unique, commercially minded approach to your manuscript. I am passionate about helping any author, whether they're writing their first book or their tenth.
I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland with my husband and our two dogs. I host a local book club once a month where we read all genres, and I unsuccessfully push my love of non fiction upon the members. When I'm not reading, editing, or out with the dogs, you'll find me doing the NYT crossword or binge watching a medical drama.

My Editing Approach
My editing philosophy is rooted in collaboration. I don't believe in stripping away an author's unique identity; instead, my goal is to act as a mirror and a guide, helping you uncover and polish the strongest version of the story you already have. We work together to ensure your narrative intention shines through every page.
We will dive deep into the bones of your manuscript, focusing on structure, pacing, and emotional resonance. Through constructive, professional feedback, I help you identify where the tension might flag or where a character's voice needs more room to breathe, providing actionable steps to tighten the flow without what makes your work *yours*
Ultimately, a successful edit is one where the writer feels empowered. Whether we are tackling a massive structural overhaul or fine-tuning the final details, I am here to support your journey. My approach ensures that when your book reaches readers, it is polished, professional, and authentically yours.
